I caught a plane Monday morning at 10.30am from Hong Qiao Airport (about 25mins from where I live in Shanghai) and arrived in Beijing at 12.30pm. This left the best part of the day to check into the hotel, have a good lunch, do some work and then sight-see Beijing by night! After a good night's sleep we set out early on site - later on that day we had time to sight see Beijing by day and by dusk we were headed for the airport to catch a 8pm flight back to Shanghai.

You need about a week in Beijing to see everything. I had two days where the best part of the day was spent on site just outside of Beijing. So here are some snap shots of the experience I had. If I had to describe those two days in one sentence it would go something like this:

Romantic and mysterious, a perfect place to sit all night in the buzzing atmosphere chatting, with a bottle of red wine, a platter of exotic fruit and good company!

Dark Days, Bright Nights...

Hmmm, This is great! That hotel looks snazzy, and your whirlwind tour of Beijing obviously touched you in all the right ways. The most important thing is that the discovery continues unabated and that your senses are engaged. Live this life you love, love the life you live! M=_)
